Synopsis:
A prominent banker, Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), is unjustly convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover and is sentenced to life imprisonment in Shawshank Prison. Over the many years he spends there, he eventually gains the respect and friendship of prison entrepreneur, Red (Freeman) who knows the ropes and helps him to cope with the frightening realities of prison life. His spirit never crushed, Andy turns out to be a most unconventional prisoner.
